Kalpavriksham Trust – Weekly Event Summary ( 11th May to 17th May 2026)

At Kalpavriksham Trust, every awareness session and screening camp is a step closer to building a healthier and cancer-aware society. During Week #19, our initiatives continued to create meaningful impact across Chennai and Thiruvallur through cancer awareness talks and free screening camps focused on prevention, early detection, and women’s health.

Reaching Communities Through Awareness

Under Project Shakthi, three Cancer Awareness Talks were successfully conducted at:

  • Nadukuthagai, Pandian Rice Mill, Thiruvallur
  • Panchayat Office, Thiruvur, Thiruvallur
  • Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited, Manali, Chennai

These sessions educated beneficiaries on:

  • Early signs and symptoms of cancer
  • Importance of regular screenings
  • Self-breast examination
  • Cervical and breast cancer prevention
  • Healthy lifestyle habits and awareness on HPV vaccination

A total of 135 beneficiaries participated in these awareness initiatives, empowering individuals with life-saving knowledge and encouraging proactive healthcare practices.

Free Cancer Screening Camps

Kalpavriksham Trust also organized two impactful Cancer Screening Camps under the ARISE and Femicare+ projects.

ARISE Project – Anandham Old Age Home, Ambattur

A free screening initiative benefited 32 elderly women, offering breast screening services and spreading awareness on the importance of timely diagnosis and preventive care among senior citizens.

Femicare+ Project – Rehoboth Home for Mentally Challenged & Destitute Women, Somangalam

This special initiative focused on providing accessible healthcare services to vulnerable women. The camp benefited 48 women, including:

  • Free Mammogram Screenings
  • Free Pap Smear Tests

The initiative aimed to ensure that every woman, regardless of her circumstances, receives access to preventive healthcare and early cancer detection services.

Through continuous awareness programs and screening camps, Kalpavriksham Trust remains committed to its mission of “Solving Cancer Crisis” by taking healthcare directly to communities.
