15th – 21st June 2026: Empowering Communities Through Cancer Awareness and Early Detection

At Kalpavriksham Trust, every initiative is driven by a single mission—to reduce the burden of cancer through awareness, early detection, and timely intervention. During Week #24 (15th to 21st June 2026), our team successfully organized two impactful community health initiatives, reaching 50 beneficiaries across Chennai and Thirumulaivoyal.

These programs focused on educating healthcare professionals and providing accessible cancer screening services for women, reinforcing our commitment to preventive healthcare.

Cancer Awareness Training for Healthcare Workers

Project: Project Shakthi
Location: AM Foundation, Chennai

As part of Project Shakthi, Kalpavriksham Trust conducted a Cancer Awareness Training Program for healthcare workers at AM Foundation, Chennai. The session benefited 35 healthcare professionals, equipping them with essential knowledge about:

  • Early warning signs and symptoms of common cancers
  • Importance of regular screening and early diagnosis
  • Cancer prevention through healthy lifestyle choices
  • Creating awareness within communities

Healthcare workers serve as the first point of contact for many individuals, making their awareness and preparedness vital in improving cancer outcomes.

Free Women's Cancer Screening Camp

Project: Project ARISE
Location: TVK Magalir Kuzhu, Thirumulaivoyal

Under Project ARISE, Kalpavriksham Trust organized a Free Women's Cancer Screening Camp for members of TVK Magalir Kuzhu.

The camp benefited 15 women, providing comprehensive screening services that included:

  • 14 Free iBreastExaminations
  • 5 Pap Smear Tests

These screenings play a crucial role in the early detection of breast and cervical cancers, significantly improving the chances of successful treatment and survival. The initiative also included personalized health education, encouraging women to prioritize routine preventive screenings.
