At Kalpavriksham, every outreach program is a step toward creating a healthier, more informed community. During Week #21 (25th–31st May 2026), our dedicated team successfully organized five impactful events, reaching 182 beneficiaries through cancer awareness sessions and free breast cancer screening camps.
From educating communities to providing early detection services, each initiative reinforced our belief that awareness and timely screening can save lives.
We began the week with a free breast cancer screening camp under Project ARISE at Susheelamma Old Age Home, Thiruninravur.
A total of 23 women received free iBreast screenings along with guidance on recognizing early warning signs of breast cancer. The session also encouraged regular self-examinations and highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, especially among elderly women.
On the same day, Project Shakthi conducted a cancer awareness session at Krishna Old Age Home, Annanur, Chennai, benefiting 30 residents.
The interactive session covered:
Participants actively engaged with the speakers, making the session informative and impactful.
On 26th May, our team visited Better World Shelter, a home supporting homeless women with disabilities in Chennai.
The awareness program reached 44 beneficiaries, focusing on:
The session was designed to be inclusive, ensuring every participant could understand and benefit from the information shared.
Continuing our mission of early detection, Project ARISE organized another Cancer Screening Camp at Saraswathi Matric Higher Secondary School, Kallikuppam, Ambattur.
A total of 25 women underwent free iBreast screenings, receiving personalized guidance and referrals wherever necessary.
Early screening remains one of the most effective tools in reducing breast cancer mortality, and initiatives like these help make preventive healthcare more accessible.
The week concluded with a unique community outreach program titled "An Evening of Light Music", combined with a Cancer Awareness Talk under Project Shakthi at Madras Pickleball Court, Thiruvanmiyur.
The event welcomed 60 participants, blending community engagement with health education.
Through an engaging and approachable format, attendees learned about:
The event demonstrated how health education can effectively reach wider audiences when integrated into community gatherings.
This week's initiatives reflect Kalpavriksham's ongoing commitment to making cancer awareness and early detection accessible to everyone, especially vulnerable and underserved communities.

Every awareness session empowers individuals with knowledge. Every screening creates an opportunity for early diagnosis. Together, these efforts contribute to reducing the burden of cancer through prevention and timely intervention.
We extend our sincere gratitude to our volunteers, healthcare professionals, partners, donors, and community members whose unwavering support makes these initiatives possible.
As we continue our journey, we remain committed to one mission:
Prevention Saves Lives.
Together, we can build healthier communities—one awareness session, one screening, and one life at a time.
