At Kalpavriksham Trust, every awareness session and every screening camp brings us one step closer to our vision of creating a cancer-aware and cancer-free society. During Week #26 (29th June to 5th July 2026), our dedicated team successfully organized 4 impactful community outreach programs, reaching 250 beneficiaries across Chennai and Madurantakam.

These initiatives focused on educating the public about cancer prevention, promoting early detection, and providing accessible screening services for underserved communities.

Event Highlights

1. Cancer Awareness Talk – Sri Arunodayam Charitable Trust

Date: 29th June 2026
Project: Project Shakthi
Location: Sri Arunodayam Charitable Trust, Kallikuppam, Chennai
Beneficiaries: 37

The week began with an interactive cancer awareness session at Sri Arunodayam Charitable Trust. Participants learned about common cancer symptoms, lifestyle modifications, the importance of regular health check-ups, and the benefits of early diagnosis. The session encouraged individuals to take proactive steps toward protecting their health.

2. Cancer Awareness Program – Achariya Siksha Mandir CBSE School

Date: 1st July 2026
Project: Project Shakthi
Location: Achariya Siksha Mandir CBSE School, Alapakkam, Chennai
Beneficiaries: 100

An engaging awareness session was conducted for students, emphasizing healthy lifestyle choices, cancer prevention, HPV vaccination, menstrual hygiene, and the importance of spreading awareness within families and communities. The program empowered young minds to become ambassadors for better health.

3. Cancer Screening Camp – Krishna Old Age Home

Date: 2nd July 2026
Project: Project ARISE
Location: Krishna Old Age Home, Annanur, Chennai

As part of Project ARISE, a free cancer screening camp was organized for elderly residents. The camp included 13 free iBreast examinations, enabling early detection of breast abnormalities. Providing screening services directly within the community helps overcome barriers to healthcare access and ensures timely intervention when needed.

4. Cancer Awareness Talk – Corporation Office, Madurantakam

Date: 4th July 2026
Project: Project Shakthi
Location: Corporation Office, Madurantakam
Beneficiaries: 100

The final event of the week brought together sanitation workers and community members for a comprehensive awareness session on cancer prevention and early detection. Participants were educated about recognizing warning signs, adopting healthy habits, and utilizing available screening services to reduce the burden of cancer.
