Kalpavriksham Trust continues its mission of creating awareness about cancer prevention and early detection through impactful grassroots initiatives across Chennai and Thiruvallur districts. During Week #17 (27th April to 03rd May 2026), the trust successfully conducted 4 Cancer Awareness Talk sessions under the Shakthi Project, benefiting a total of 177 participants.
The awareness programs focused on educating women and community members about the importance of early detection, regular screening, healthy lifestyle choices, and preventive healthcare practices. Participants were guided on self-breast examination techniques, the significance of mammograms and Pap smear tests, and the role of timely diagnosis in improving treatment outcomes.
On 27th April 2026, a Cancer Awareness Talk was conducted at Corporation Community College, Alwarpet, reaching 60 participants. The session emphasized women’s health, breast cancer awareness, cervical cancer prevention, and the importance of routine health check-ups among young adults and women.
Another awareness session held on 27th April 2026 at Karani Village, Adi Amman Kovil, Kadambathur, benefited 44 participants. The program focused on educating rural women about early warning signs of cancer, self-screening methods, and available medical support systems.
On 28th April 2026, Kalpavriksham Trust organized an awareness session at Prayankuppam Village, Kadambathur, Thiruvallur, benefiting 52 participants. The interactive session encouraged women to prioritize preventive healthcare and break the stigma surrounding cancer screening.
The final session of the week was conducted on 02nd May 2026 at Sathiram, Sevvapet, Thiruvallur, reaching 21 participants. The discussion highlighted the importance of early detection, healthy habits, and regular medical consultations for long-term wellness.
Through continuous awareness initiatives, Kalpavriksham Trust is working toward reducing cancer-related risks and promoting accessible preventive healthcare among underserved communities. These educational programs empower women and families with the knowledge needed to recognize symptoms early and seek timely medical support.
