Week #28 (13th – 17th July 2026): Empowering Communities Through Cancer Awareness and Early Detection

At Kalpavriksham Trust, our mission is to reduce the burden of cancer through awareness, early detection, and preventive healthcare. During Week #28 (13th–17th July 2026), our dedicated team successfully conducted 10 community outreach programmes, reaching a total of 777 beneficiaries across Madurantakam, Chennai, Annanur, Singaperumal Koil, and surrounding areas.

Through Project Shakthi and Project Sunkalp, we continued our commitment to educating communities about cancer prevention while providing free cancer screening services to those who need them most.

Project Shakthi – Spreading Awareness, Saving Lives

Project Shakthi focused on educating the public about the importance of cancer prevention and early diagnosis. Awareness sessions covered:

  • Breast Cancer Awareness
  • Cervical Cancer Prevention
  • Oral Cancer Awareness
  • Importance of Regular Screening
  • Self Breast Examination (SBE)
  • Healthy Lifestyle Practices

Awareness talks were conducted at:

  • Pudupattu Grama Panchayat, Madurantakam
  • AVT Leather & Allied Products Pvt. Ltd., Madurantakam
  • Krishna Old Age Home, Annanur, Chennai
  • Sun Pharma, Madurantakam
  • Government Primary Health Centre, Gnangiriswaran Pettai

These programmes empowered individuals with practical knowledge that can lead to earlier diagnosis and better treatment outcomes.

Project Sunkalp – Bringing Cancer Screening Closer to Communities

Project Sunkalp continued to provide free cancer screening services in underserved communities. Screening camps were organized at:

  • Pudupattu Panchayat Office, Madurantakam
  • Udhavum Ullangal Old Age Home, Singaperumal Koil
  • Sun Pharma, Madurantakam
  • Andavaakam Panchayat Office, Madurantakam

The camps included:

  • iBreast Examination
  • Oral Cancer Screening
  • Pap Smear Testing for eligible women
  • Cancer Risk Assessment
  • Health Education and Counselling
