Week #33 | 17th–23rd August 2026 | Madurantakam and Chennai
Kalpavriksham Trust continued its commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and community health awareness during Week 33 (17th to 23rd August 2026). Across 11 community and institutional events, the Trust reached a total of 2,459 beneficiaries through cancer screening camps, awareness talks, and breast cancer screening initiatives.
The week’s activities focused on taking cancer awareness and early-detection services closer to communities, particularly in and around Madurantakam, while also extending screening support through educational institutions.
As part of Project Sunkalp, cancer screening camps were conducted at several locations in Madurantakam, including Vedanthangal Village, Gnangiriswaran Pettai, Munnuthikuppam, Nallamur PHC, and Zameen Endathur PHC.

These camps provided community members with access to basic cancer screening services and encouraged them to seek timely medical consultation when required.
Project Shakti focused on spreading cancer awareness among larger community groups. Awareness sessions were conducted at Kathiricheri, Munnuthikuppam, and Shakti, reaching hundreds of participants.
One of the major awareness programmes during the week reached approximately 2,000 beneficiaries, creating an opportunity to discuss cancer prevention, early warning signs, screening, and the importance of seeking medical attention without delay.
On 23rd August 2026, Project ARISE conducted an iBreast Screening Camp at Everwin Vidhyashram School, Kolathur, reaching 39 beneficiaries.
The initiative reinforced the importance of breast health awareness and early identification of possible abnormalities.

Every awareness session and screening camp is an opportunity to encourage people to understand cancer better, recognize warning signs early, and take timely action.
