Kalpavriksham Trust continues its mission of Solving the Cancer Crisis by reaching communities across Tamil Nadu with life-saving awareness, education, and screening initiatives. During Week #46 (10th to 16th November 2025), the Trust conducted 5 impactful events, creating a meaningful difference in the lives of 333 beneficiaries.
This week focused on strengthening cancer awareness, promoting early detection, and empowering women to take charge of their health.
Under the Shakthi project, Kalpavriksham Trust organized four awareness sessions aimed at educating women on breast, cervical, and gynecologic cancers. These sessions covered:
Importance of regular mammograms and Pap smears
Early signs and symptoms of breast and cervical cancer
Demonstrations and videos on self-breast examination
Lifestyle habits that reduce cancer risk
HPV vaccination awareness
The sessions were held at:
Koduvelli Junction, Arakkampakkam Village, Thiruvallur – 18 beneficiaries
Pammathukulam & Jayalakshmi Nagar, Pothur – 28 beneficiaries
The Nazareth Academy (CBSE), Kovilpathagai, Avadi – 195 beneficiaries
NRS Chamber, Bandi-Kavanur, Tiruvallur – 41 beneficiaries
These programs helped women gain clarity on prevention, early diagnosis, and the crucial role of proactive health practices.
On 15th November 2025, the Trust, in collaboration with Privaram Cancer Hospital, organized a free cancer screening camp at:
St. Joseph Home for Aged, Birudur Village, Tiruvannamalai
This camp provided:
29 free Mammograms
24 free Pap smears
Total beneficiaries: 51
The initiative aimed to ensure that senior women and underserved communities receive essential screening services at no cost.
The visuals from the awareness sessions and screening camps reflect powerful stories of hope, learning, and empowerment. Women engaged actively, asked questions, and received personalized guidance from healthcare professionals. The screening team ensured comfortable, safe, and compassionate care throughout the process.
Early detection saves lives—especially in breast and cervical cancers, where survival rates are significantly higher when diagnosed early. Kalpavriksham Trust’s continuous efforts ensure that:
Rural and underserved communities gain access to accurate knowledge
Women receive free screenings that might otherwise be unaffordable
Preventive healthcare becomes a habit, not an afterthought

Your support enables us to take cancer awareness and screenings to those who need it most. Together, we can build a healthier future—one community at a time.
