Kalpavriksham Trust continued its mission of fighting the cancer crisis through awareness, early detection, and community empowerment. During Week #48, the team reached underserved rural communities in Thiruvallur district, ensuring that vital knowledge on breast and cervical cancer reaches the people who need it most.
This week included 2 cancer awareness sessions, impacting a total of 61 beneficiaries under the Shakthi project—our initiative dedicated to women's health and preventive screening.
The first session of the week was held at Kollumedu Village, Thiruvallur, with 24 women participating.
The discussion focused on:
Importance of early detection of breast and cervical cancers
Demonstration of self-breast examination
Information on mammogram and Pap smear screening
Lifestyle practices that reduce cancer risk
The participants interacted actively, asking questions about symptoms, screening frequency, and available healthcare resources.
The second awareness program took place at NRS Chamber, Bandi Kavanur Village, Thiruvallur, where 37 beneficiaries attended the session.
This session emphasized:
Recognizing early warning signs
Understanding HPV and the role of vaccines
Eliminating myths and stigma associated with cancer
Encouraging regular screening among rural women
The community welcomed the initiative, appreciating the effort to bring medically accurate information directly to their village.
Cancer remains one of the leading health challenges in India, particularly among women in rural areas who often lack access to timely information and preventive screening. Kalpavriksham Trust continues to bridge this gap through its Shakthi Project, ensuring women are empowered with knowledge, confidence, and access to early detection services.
Every session we conduct is a step toward:
Reducing late-stage cancer diagnoses
Improving community health literacy
Promoting preventive healthcare practices
Saving lives through awareness and early intervention

Kalpavriksham Trust’s mission thrives on community support. You can contribute to our ongoing cancer prevention initiatives by supporting, volunteering, or spreading awareness.
Together, we can build a cancer-aware society where prevention and early detection become a priority.
