Kalpavriksham Weekly Summary (6th – 12th October 2025)

At Kalpavriksham Trust, our mission to create awareness and provide accessible healthcare continues to make a meaningful difference. During Week #41, from 6th to 12th October 2025, we successfully organized five impactful events under our flagship initiatives — Project Shakthi and Project Femicare+ — across Chennai and Thiruvallur districts.

Project Shakthi – Cancer Awareness Talks

Knowledge is the first step toward prevention. Under Project Shakthi, our team conducted four Cancer Awareness Talks at various educational institutions and community centers. These interactive sessions focused on educating participants about:

• The importance of early detection

• Recognizing early symptoms

• Healthy lifestyle choices to reduce cancer risks

Highlights of Project Shakthi sessions:

• Chamber, Melakondaiyur Village – 6 beneficiaries

• Melakondaiyur Village – 14 beneficiaries

• Mangalam College of Education, Thirumullaivoyal – 30 beneficiaries

• Ponnuswamy Nadar College of Arts & Science, Thozhuvur – 200 beneficiaries

Each session encouraged open discussions and community engagement, empowering individuals to take proactive steps toward their health.

Project Femicare+ – Free Cancer Screening Camp

As part of our continued commitment to women’s health, a Free Mammogram and Pap Smear Screening Camp was organized at Sri Santhanakrishna Padmavathy Healthcare Foundation, Chrompet.

• 74 women registered for screening

• 51 underwent mammograms for breast cancer detection

• 64 underwent Pap smear tests for cervical cancer screening

These screenings play a vital role in early diagnosis and prevention — helping women access care before it’s too late.
