Forty people in Vilvarayanallur Village took an important step towards protecting their health.
Not by taking medicine.
By learning how to recognize the early signs of cancer and why regular screening matters.
As part of Project Sunkalp, C. S. Shanthi conducted a Cancer Awareness Talk that focused on the importance of early detection and preventive healthcare.
The session covered four key topics:
• iBreastExam – an advanced, radiation-free breast screening that helps detect abnormalities at an early stage.
• Pap Smear – a simple and effective test that can identify cervical cell changes before they develop into cancer.
• Oral Examination – because persistent mouth ulcers, white or red patches, and unexplained sores should always be evaluated.
• Skin Cancer Awareness – understanding how changes in moles, spots, or skin lesions can be early warning signs that should not be ignored.
The most dangerous thing about many cancers is that they often begin without pain or obvious symptoms.
That is why awareness comes first. When people know the warning signs and seek screening early, they give themselves the best chance for successful treatment.
Every awareness session we conduct is another step towards healthier communities and a future where fewer lives are lost to preventable cancers.
