As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Gnangiriswaran Pettai PHC, Madurantakam, Tamil Nadu, bringing preventive healthcare and early detection closer to the local community.
A total of 50 beneficiaries came forward for screening, including 26 men and 24 women.
The camp included:
• 19 iBreast Examinations
• 50 Oral Examinations
Cancer does not always cause noticeable symptoms in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes earlier and encourage people to seek timely medical evaluation and follow-up.
For many communities, access to specialised healthcare can be affected by distance, cost, time, or limited awareness. Project Sunkalp works to reduce these barriers by bringing cancer screening services closer to people through local healthcare facilities and community-based camps.
Every person who comes forward for screening is taking a proactive step towards understanding and protecting their health. These camps also create opportunities to spread awareness and encourage families to make preventive healthcare a regular part of their lives.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to work with healthcare facilities, communities, healthcare professionals, and CSR partners to expand access to cancer screening across Madurantakam.
